India is a land of infinite dreams, but harbors a dark
belly underneath it. When this ugly face comes up, you know you are in for a
psychological turmoil. Governments, mobs have their own tools for justice, but
does that showcase the country in its true spirit? Do numbers & percentages
dictate terms in an otherwise country driven by feelings or brotherhood?
We have seen the naked fury of a 3000 strong mob,
lynching the guilty at Dimapur, we have seen the sorry state of affairs of our
judicial system & the hallowed protests in the Nirbhaya episode & then
there was the ‘dark moment’ in our history - 26.11.
Being democratic, we can’t have punishments like the gulf
countries or Indonesia. This is a country where people have faith in their
laws. Here, people have called a terrorist a ‘masoom’. This is the country that
has its ideologies deeply rooted in the Gandhian and Patel ideology. And this
is the sole reason that thoughts or opinions are captured in the turmoil of
good or bad.
The people who raise their voices against this brutal
incident have failed to understand the gravity of the crime.
. If some girl is raped and alive; someone is unlucky
enough not just raped but left to that condition where death would have been
better then are we going to consider both these crimes equal? Do numbers and
percentages come into play there? Is it just that a 5000 rupees fine or a 7
year imprisonment make the guilty wash away their sins?
Likewise, Dimapur is a classic case where laws fail -
for good!.
If this is the answer to crimes like rape then so be it
Even if mob justice fails to create fear in the minds of such dirty-minded
people, then a more cruel approach needs to be taken. Satanists like Mukesh
Singh who still have the audacity to put the blame across to the victim should
be publically flogged & get death in the most excruciating of manners. It will definitely be an eye opener for a
country who is nowadays knows as the rape capital of the world.
Faith is failing. Our country is at a crossroads when
Morals come into the picture. What say?
